Data Safety Notice

This course has two separate components with different data responsibilities:

  1. Member Portal – manages your account, login credentials, and payments.

  2. Course Tool – stores your course progress and notes locally on your device only.

The information below applies specifically to the course tool.

Member Portal (Accounts & Payments)

Your membership, login, and payment information are handled directly by our third-party membership platform, which acts as the data controller for that information under applicable privacy laws, including the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

The platform collects and processes:

  • Your name and email address

  • Your login credentials

  • Device and analytics data

  • Payment information (processed through third-party payment processors)

We have access only to your name and email address for membership management purposes. We do not receive or store any payment card information.

The platform's handling of account and payment data is governed by their own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Course Tool – Local Storage Only

Your progress and notes are stored locally in your web browser on your device. This means:

  • Your data is not sent to our servers

  • Your data is not shared with anyone

  • Your data is not accessible to other users

  • Your data does not leave the device you are currently using

Because we do not collect, store, or process this data, we are not acting as a data controller under the GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or similar privacy laws.

What the tool stores locally

To support your learning experience, the following may be saved on your device:

  • Your name (used to generate your certificate)

  • Your reflection answers, star-rating evaluations, and other responses that are not considered sensitive

  • Names, dates, roles, milestones, and other details you enter for project-planning activities

This information is used solely to personalize your course experience and is not transmitted anywhere.

Important: What Not to Enter

Please do not enter confidential information, sensitive personal data, or proprietary business information into this course. All information you enter is stored on your device, and you are responsible for what you choose to include.

Because we do not collect or process this data, the data subject rights set out in GDPR Articles 12–23, CCPA/CPRA consumer rights provisions, and equivalent state privacy laws do not apply to locally stored course data.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including the use of standard browser-based storage methods and application-level safeguards. This reflects general expectations for reasonable security under laws such as the FTC Act (15 U.S.C. § 45) and GDPR Article 32.

However, because your data resides on your device, its security ultimately depends on how you manage and protect that device and browser.

Your Responsibilities

Because your data is stored only on your device, please be aware that:

  • Anyone with access to your device or browser may be able to view it

  • Clearing your browser data or cache may delete your course progress

  • Using private or incognito mode will prevent your data from being saved between sessions

  • Your data will not transfer automatically if you switch devices or browsers

For the best experience, we recommend using a personal device and a standard (non-incognito) browser session.

Removing Your Data

We do not collect, transmit, or store your course data on our servers. All information remains entirely under your control. To remove your data, clear your browser's local storage or use the "Restart" option within the course.
